The LORD Rescues from Afflictions

A psalm to David, when he changed his countenance before Abimelech, and he loosened him, and he went forth.

1 I will bless the lord at all time; always his praise is in my mouth. 2 [³in ⁴the ⁵ lord ²shall applaud ¹My soul]. Let [²hear ¹the gentle] and be glad! 3 Magnify the lord with me! for we should raise up high his name together. 4 I sought after the lord, and he heeded me; and out of all my afflictions he rescued me. 5 Come forward to him, and be enlightened! and your faces in no way shall be disgraced. 6 This poor man cried out, and the lord heard him; and from out of all his afflictions he delivered him. 7 [³will encamp ¹The angel ²of the lord] round about the ones fearing him, and he will rescue them. 8 Taste and see that [³is gracious ¹the ² lord]! Blessed is the man who hopes upon him. 9 Let [³fear ⁴the ⁵ lord ¹all ²his holy ones]! for there is no deficiency to the ones fearing him. 10 The rich became poor, and they hunger; but the ones seeking after the lord shall not lack any good thing. 11 Come children, hear me! [³a fear ⁴of the lord ¹I will teach ²you]. 12 Who is the man wanting life, loving [³days ¹to behold ²good]? 13 Cease your tongue from evil! and your lips, so as to not speak treachery. 14 Turn aside from the bad, and do good! Seek peace, and pursue it! 15 The eyes of the lord are upon the just, and his ears are unto their supplication. 16 But the face of the lord is against the ones committing evils, to utterly destroy [²from ³the earth ¹their memorial]. 17 [³cried out ¹The ²just], and the lord heard them; and from out of all their afflictions he rescued them. 18 The lord is near to the ones being broken in heart; and the humble in spirit he shall deliver. 19 Many are the afflictions of the just; and from out of all of them [³shall rescue ⁴them ¹the ² lord]. 20 The lord guards all their bones; [²one ³of ⁴them ¹not] shall be broken. 21 The death of sinners is a sorry state; and the ones detesting the just shall offend. 22 The lord shall ransom the souls of his servants; and in no way shall [⁶offend ¹all ²the ³ones hoping ⁴upon ⁵him].
